I’m not a housewife but I have an 01 with 230k miles and three people on my block have the new one.
We all drive off in the morning and come home in the evening. Only difference is mine is paid off and they’re paying close to $1000/mo

The US sold Land Cruiser is not even the full size LC, it’s labeled a LC Prado overseas. They are selling the Prado as the only model in the US now- that’s why it’s so small; it’s not a full sized Land Cruiser.

I'm gonna run my 2UZ-FE's until they can't no more. I may add a 3UR-FE to my stable if I decide to thin my yota herd in the future.

The deal killer with the landcruiser/GX twins is the fuel range per tank. Many reports of 200ish miles per tank. frick that, I ain't trying to live with Apu at the gas station.

Instead, Toyota has decided to spend a fortune developing a North America-specific product (Sequoia) that sucks at competing with the Ford Expedition in carrying passengers and cargo, but also sucks at being a replacement for a reliable, capable Land Cruiser. They should have just imported a V8 L300 Land Cruiser instead.

I have owned Landcruisers in the past and now have a 25 LX600 with the V6.
My thoughts after 8 months..
Gas mileage is an issue since the gas tank is only 21 gallons, so your range is under 300 miles and you are constantly having to fill up. It has power, but it sounds and feels like you are pushing that V6. The 700 has hybrid engine and gets a mile or two better mpg, but you lose @6” height in rear cargo for batteries. I went back and forth on this and am rethinking the space outweighs the mpg.
They need to go back to the V8 and the larger 24.6 gas tank.
