Not good for the Northshore.

Fair assessment.
It is actually pretty impressive how much shite it has endured to get to this point.

Good idea. Thanks for the reminder.

Hard to tell without a well defined center, but the center seems to be somewhat east of the track. NW will probably come eventually, though.

I'm flying from Atlanta to Shreveport Thursday night. What do you think my chances are of getting home?

Pretty bad. Lotta terrible Falcons and Bama fans here.

Not at all....and those are the clusterfricks that are sometimes the worst because they just kinda meander around, dumping tons of rainfall all over the place.
At least the big organized storms tend to haul arse once they hit land. If I remember right about Katrina, it made landfall in the early morning and by late that afternoon in BR the rain was mostly gone and by early the next morning the sun was out and we were out cleaning up tree limbs....and it was as hot as frick.

I checked a few hours ago and this thing jumped 15mph in just a few hours. This thing is going to be a hurricane by the time it hits land for sure, IMO.

The forecasters have shite the bed on this one.

Flash flood warnings being issued now, wouldn't be surprised to see them extend eastward to Pensacola and westward to New Orleans at some point tonight.

It had maximum winds at 45mph at 7 P.M. now they already jumped to 60. I don't see how it's forecast to be a TS by the time it hits land. And the rain charts keep ever so slightly pushing the heaviest rain closer to all of SE Louisiana.

Sounds like a good way to freeze up your landlord's AC.

You like drama, don't you?
Also, this will not become a hurricane.
