Any company that chooses a low-baller over experience and tenure is not going to make it long..

Assuming you are as knowledgeable/capable as you claim..

IBM disagrees. Hopefully they will be proven wrong.

What does 5 years of college mean? Like you tried 5 years and finally quit?

yea thats an odd way to say that. Did you actually graduate?

That makes a lot more sense if the kid has a degree and you dont

This is bad advice if you actually enjoy life instead of being married to your job. I can't stand people that stay at work all day for no reason. Go enjoy life instead of being in the office 12 hours a day

Has anyone mentioned the likely truth that the op is not as good as he thinks he is, and he probably doesn't even know how much the new person makes but says that to make himself feel better?

Your assumption is wrong. I just don't dick off all day at work. I get my work done in 8 hours a day.

Why doesn't anyone consider that the company saw the new kid as high potential? GE puts unproven high potentials into supervisory roles every fall and it works pretty well for them.

Yeah I get more done in the 7 hours I'm in the office than those that get there early and stay late

I get to the office at six and leave at 2:00/2:30. I'd guess that 90% of my work gets done in the 2 hours before all the retards show up to bother me with their bullshite stories about their kids or what they did all weekend.

Supervisor fresh of college with no experience and will be making less than the employees under him? Yeah you need to start hunting another job, that place is doomed. No one will have any respect for him making him vertually in effective.

In a pervious job, this is exactly what I did. It made me a better employee and a better person - I ended up landing a much better job, and it hurt my former employer to lose one of their better employees. Storming out the door flipping them the bird makes you look like an arse; walking out the door while they are wanting you to stay makes them look like an arse...
