In 2018, we bought Uncle Earl’s Bar and reimagined it as a place that has become a staple in the Baton Rouge bar scene.

As of January 15th, a new establishment will open in this location.
If it was still a successful staple of the Baton Rouge bar scene, a "new establishment" wouldn't be opening there.

Peak Baton Rouge nightlife circa 2005.
Poets
Nitelife
Not in 2005 they weren't. Poets had been closed for almost 3 years by then and Nitelife for over a year.

Had some damn good times there, pre and post renovations. Was better before renovations when it was a shitehole but had character. Wednesdays always started at Bulldog then ended at Earls.

If someone asked what BR nightlife south of government is like
This is the perfect picture. Cheap drinks, hammered dudes lazily dressed and a random black friend

My sister was planning to name my niece Annalyse until my dad warned her that she will have several unkind nicknames when she gets to high school!

Whenever I was going out we always started at Uncle Earle’s shooting pool. Lots of good times at Uncle Earl’s. Mid 70’s

Not joking but I was told Cadillac Cafe is making a comeback at the current Uncle Earl’s location.

Eddie Money played at the Kingfish. Not sure if it was the Kingfish or Cat-Ba-Lues at that time. I’m sure that is not spelled correctly but it was the bar in the corner of that shopping center. That shopping center was a good place to go partying. I would go to Southdowns almost every weekend. Southdowns Halloween party was awesome. There was no telling what you might see there. I think Leroux also played there.

Refresh my memory. Wasn’t there a couple bull mastif dogs roaming round that place amongst the fireplacs and pool tables?

Mack Brousseau was the owner. Oyster Hustle on Monday nights. Fireplace going on the cold nights, and sometimes the Bull Mastiff's were laying around in front of the fire by the rocking chairs.
