I’m pretty sure Louisiana passed a bill saying electric car drivers have to pay a certain tax every year on gas because they aren’t contributing to road maintenance
Come up with a mileage tax for EV's.

Hang on so if we compare a hybrid driving 90% of its miles on gasoline and then exaggerate the cost of the 10% battery miles by a factor of 10X then it looks awful compared to a gas car? Imagine that.

Bring me coffee and a newspaper and I'll consider it.

The point still stands. Our electrical system won’t be able to handle it

The point still stands.
quote:It can handle it already. We could drop 100 million EVs on the grid and charge them tonight with little issue. And of course over the decades it will take to put that many on the road the grid will become more robust, in large part thanks to those EVs.

EVs are another way to hold you hostage.
Even if an EV tells you it’s fully charged for 300 miles range, you’ll get less than half of that. And god help you if you have luggage in the car or are going up some hills.
Go read the WSJ article about the EV road-trip. They had it all mapped out and lost tons of time due to charging inefficiencies and all the issues that come with dumb arse EVs. Have fun with that.

Wow what an intelligent response. Unsurprisingly, you are uninformed. Be gone.

Wow what an intelligent response.
quote:Please, inform me how a vehicle which can be charged from a multitude of sources, several for which you as an individual can own the entire infrastructure as your own property, is a way to hold us hostage.
Unsurprisingly, you are uninformed.
Also please inform me how EVs only get half the range shown on the dash and the millions of owners are not making a stink about it.
You are an incredibly stupid individual.
