Oh, I didn't realize this was a current events quiz thread. Just read the headlines on that shite. Didn't dive into it.

He literally gave me the same response before he edited his post.

Eta: word for word.

What's the point of withholding that info, unless you have something to hide which supports the justification to fire you...

Watching snuff porn on work phone was a bad idea. Yes, they will look at your browsing history to see what kind of crap you were looking at.

I get that OP is making a troll attempt but...

Assuming there was something on there you really didn't want the employer to see, like photos of that time in Vegas with the transvestite midget hookers, why not just say you don't remember? A Judge would be hard pressed to hold you in Contempt if you went in and gave a sworn statement to that effect.

This is not analogous to the San Bernardino case, if that's what you're implying.

Like, at all.

who said anything about apple complying in your case?

you said your employer would get a court order to make you turn over the data

by the way, if you're alive and you won't give up your password during a criminal investigation, they can jail you until you do if they have a warrant

Goddam the OP is pretty dense.

Here's what you say/do-

Either- "I forgot it."

or

Give them the wrong password and afterward when they come to you and ask again say "I thought that was it. I must have forgotten it."

The word "forgot" can be the most elegant solution to many problems.

all they'd have to do was show a text or phone call or email from the phone like a day before they asked him to turn it over

so he magically forgets in a day? when they want it?

yeah..NO judge would throw you in jail for contempt for that well hidden lie
