My parents and my inlaws are the same way. Kinda frustrating sometimes, but we find ways to occasionally pick up a tab

Don’t insult the handicapped like that

I blame the absurd pricing structure of cell phone plans. 1 line is 100 bucks but 4 lines is 120 bucks. There's no reason to not just keep the family plan

You just reminded me, I need to call Spectrum and see about getting my bill reduced. Parents are paying for that shite now

It was a joke about them being selfish. My dad is adamant that he pays for everything. His 5 kids either went to a service academy, ivy, or southern ivy on full rides. He claims we saved him enough in college tuition for a lifetime of vacations...... We are all grateful and he loves having all the grandkids together.

I pick up tabs like that for my parents or in laws. They pay some, I pay some. I do the same with our siblings and close friends.
My dad and FIL would look at me like I was a prick dick head if I truly tried to pay the tab
I offer, but always accept them saying frick no

My FIL about came across the table at me the other day when the waitress handed me the bill. He probably pays 3 of 4 times cause he grabs the check. I told him that I couldn't in good conscience let him pay every time.

And no they weren't.
Older gen x folk might have raised some of the younger end of millennials, but the vast majority were raised by boomers.
