Poverty breeds poverty for the most part and a general lack of self awareness is another huge issue. I am not being racist but there is a lot of blame deflecting in the black community that isn’t nearly as prevalent in other cultures. It is largely almost always someone else’s fault

I think you are confusing decimation with something that didn’t exist under Roman law

Everyone knows the problem, but refuses to acknowledge and fix it. And yes, I remember when Airline and BR as a whole were good. Sad what has happened.

No need to watch this. No breakthrough information is forthcoming.

Unspoken Cliff Notes: Murder demographics are in the 90s.

quote:

65% of prisoners are black, more than double their share of the population at whole. Black are 4 times more likely to be imprisoned for crimes than whites (could be due to public defenders?).

Since crimes are not committed proportionately throughout the state, you have to look at where crimes are committed in larger numbers - the bigger cities. Now do a demographic check. Are blacks really incarcerated at twice the rate in locations where most crimes occur?

I noticed you only cited a vague stat about blacks being more likely to be imprisoned than whites, without any mention of differences in types of crime. Is it because you know more and don’t want to put it out there as part of this discussion?

If you did want to know more, you should probably look at the variables that determine whether or not someone goes to prison. Those variables include the nature of the offense committed (do whites and blacks commit the same crimes, or does one commit more violent crimes?), criminal history is also a factor, and so on.

quote:

Pretending the trends are wholly the responsibility of the black community is misleading, at best.

Misleading how?

If this “documentary” reveals anything (nothing new from my perspective ), it’s the self destructive narrative that is so prevalent in many of these ghetto cultures. That narrative requires externalizing blame. If it’s not their fault, they can feel better about the lifestyle they do not want to leave. One of these geniuses speculates that white people want them to kill each other.

Well genius, if true, why do the bidding of these white devils? Easy fix. Stop. Make better choices. You have the power.

But that’s a cop-out and we all know it. They all love the lifestyle. They don’t want to quit. It’s sexy to them and they want to blame whitey. They are fueled by a cycle of perpetual victimhood and perpetual victimizer.

When do we stop glamorizing ghetto culture? When do those immersed in ghetto culture stop pulling in more victims of ghetto culture to become new victimizers in ghetto culture?

Well the city of St. George will have its work cut out for them because it’s all going to shite here in South BR. Not safe anywhere anymore. From Coursey to Oneal to Harrells Ferry and South Sherwood. The Black gun violence is everywhere. I hate it here. I live in a nice neighborhood and I’m afraid to go out of it to do anything. I can’t wait to move out of Louisiana. I’ve lost all interest and hope here. Disgusted with these humans.

That’s no way to live. Things can pop off any and everywhere. Don’t foolishly put yourself in harms way, but probably not a good life to be a recluse.

If you stay in the few good areas your odds of safety should be better. Just be mindful of your surroundings, if you see too many hood people be alarmed, and make sure you have a gun in your home. If you leave, make sure to go where the demographics are the opposite of BR. You notice as one demographic became the majority the city and parish has gone to shite. And that's not to say all of them are inherently terrible people but you get my point. And remember it's not racism, it's survivalism

Thank you for the replies about not living as a recluse and moving to a place with opposite demographics as BR.
I really do appreciate the advice without sneer and sarcasm.
We are currently looking in a few other states with a small town feel that has a majority of White demographics, low crime rate, etc. In the meantime, I have to live life and work to make our move happen.
We are almost retirement age and I also want more seasons in our weather. I can’t bear this heat plus humidity anymore. Have lived in south Louisiana all my life.
