I was skiing with my 14yo son and noticed how polite everyone is skiing. People allowing you to sound into lift lines, food lines, etc - saying excuse me and thank you. Just really polite in general.

so you are surprised by the politeness of the upper middle and wealthy classes that can afford snow skiing
your son is correct and pretty awesome for that comment
its the same thing in the summer. go to a water park or a "cheap" beach destination that is usually occupied by lower class & full of culture and compare it to even a place like 30A....world of difference.
hell we see it all the time on the videos from cruises comparing Carnival to Royal Caribbean, viking etc.

Meh.
I live in Bend. It’s a ski town.
I worked on Mt Bachelor last season full time.
I had interactions with assholes every single day on that mountain.
Especially local kids, whose parents use the mountain for day care. Kids just skiing wild without any supervision are the worst assholes on the mountain by far.
You paint only a glimpse of the truth.

I wish people were as happy and friendly at Disney World as they were on the mountain. Physical and mental health goes a long way for happiness and helps raise healthy kids who aren't total assholes.
well the problem with disney is there are ways for many to do it cheaply and still go. well they are miserable because they dont really have the money to be there and cant really enjoy it too much
the best times I have had at disney with my kids is when we just brought the multipark fast passes and then paid the extra for the fast passes to the big rides.
in between, go enjoy shows, the food and just take your time.
when its all scheduled out by the mom where everyone is matching, everyone is rushing to the next scheduled event, sitting in line for hours upon hours....yea that can be miserable.
my favorite was go ride a couple rides in the morning after breakfast then go chill at epcot walking around trying different foods from different countries during the food festival, then go back and ride a few more, then go eat at a nice restaurant the poors dont go to then go watch the epcot fire works.

If you’re implying that white people don’t get drunk and stab each other at the family reunion, you’d be wrong……but I hear you.

It's kinda like the same positive character traits you see at the ski resort also tend to help people be successful in life. And the opposite of that will hold people back.

Can you imagine leaving expensive skiing equipment unattended in front of any business establishment in New Orleans or Baton Rouge??? People here will steal anything just because it’s there.
He says, “Some fricking black dudes robbed my car last night.”
Me: “Did somebody see them? How do you know they were black?”
Him: “They stole my radio and a leather jacket and left a $1200 set of Ping golf clubs in the back seat alone. They probably thought they were just sticks.”

Wide body RWD Mopars have difficulties making it up the snowy mountains.

I mainly stick to Deer Valley, Aspen, and Vail to avoid the proletariat that have been discovering skiing as of late. Last time I went to Breckenridge, I saw someone in camouflage and one person cut in front of me in the lift line so I swore that I would never return

It’s all white people.
Don’t act surprised.

I asked locals about it when I was there, they said “chargers can’t make it up the mountain”

Same reason in my 20s I liked to hit Bourbon street the night of the Sugar Bowl, regardless of who was playing, more than during Mardi Gras.
Totally different crowd.

Now, just imagine if all of society was like that. What a wonderful life it would be.
Society is exactly like that here. And it is indeed a wonderful life.
But we're full. Sorry.
