I own and used to show Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs (like Berners but short hair). I can introduce you to real people I know that are exactly like every character in Best in Show, including myself. I will also tell you it is not cheap. I easily spent $750-$1000 a weekend showing. I enjoyed the working titles more than the conformation ones.

Beautiful dog.
Did she grab a used condom out of the trash?

Show dog people are weird as frick. This is just the canine world Grammys. Regular dog owners couldn't care less.

You seem grumpy. I enjoy watching every year. Have been to a few smaller dog shows and enjoyed them.

Working titles are more fun to watch. And the breeds are usually more to standard than show dogs. But they are still pretty to watch and Westminster is the only one I keep up with. Interestingly, an old English sheep dog won the herding group today. I’ve never seen that one at work, and will YouTube it. Typically see the shepherds and collies.

Friend of mine from the USMC handled a dog that won Best of Opposite Sex yesterday. I don’t know much about dog shows, but seems pretty cool.

Doberman was a stud and never even panted. Dominated.

The announcer is retiring after 25 years! It will not be the same without his voice

That chessie sure was beautiful, who was runner up. He kinda pranced out there. None of them except for the afghan and chessie seemed to be saying “look at me!”

It's my dog's distant cousin.
