Is that crying gif a visual representation of Boomers kicked out of their fields because they refused to embrace technology? If so, well done!

*bangs on screen* "stupid computers" *loud caveman sounds*

I'll just handwrite the damn thing.

"what? we got an email? shiiiit I didn't see it on no bulletin board"

We have a MF like this at work. Eats anything he can get his hands on. Some know how he is, and will fix him a plate/bowl, and a tray for everyone else. That bastard will eat from the community tray and take his food home.

Mostly liberals who take turns begging for personal attention...envious yet self-loathing. Got some cool females and males still. 2/3 of them are socially inept.

Earlier in my career I used to work around some baws who hated technology and people smarter than them. Heard a few of the dumbasses use the standard line that engineers produce paper and we build stuff and don’t need their fancy drawings.

Also listened one day as bubba was bitching that he hates the fancy Primavera stuff. In his day they had a paper on the wall with a string hanging down that worked just fine to show the jobs and progress.

When I have someone like that around, I will bring shite just to watch them do their thing. It's worth the few bucks for doughnuts or whatever.

People watching, esp when you have an entertaining one, is awesome.

I work with a lot of boomers born in the 1950s. They are mostly loyal employees with better work ethics than some workers from younger generations.

I must say, however, that many of our boomers have been way too slow, and in some cases unwilling, to adapt to modern technology and software, and demonstrably better and more efficient ways of doing things, much to their own detriment.

Boss: late 50's-early 60's female, constantly dieting, not in terrible shape
Boss: late 50's male, eats healthy, has lost a 50+ pounds in the last year
Co-worker: angry female, 40-ish, a couple of kids from a couple of different fathers, smoker with the worst body odor ever, constant coffee drinker with the worst breath ever, shite attitude
Co-worker: early 20's male, kind of big, non-chalant, roll-off-the-back type
Me: late 20's male, runs ~10 miles a week, calisthenics and yoga daily, brushes teeth and showers daily, shows up on time and is never late, best performance reviews and audits, future 6 figure earner

Das it mane.

Demographically: we're close to even on the gender split. Marketing is female heavy, development and operations is male leaning. We have Boomers, Gen-X and Millenials all present. We got a few fatties in the mix, but most of our crew is built like a brick shithouse.

I think this is due in large part to the newer generation not being loyal to the company, but to themselves. Which is not a bad thing per se. You have a group more willing to realize they have worth in the job market and end up working for multiple companies looking for the right "fit". The positive is that they get to see how multiple companies do things and attempt to combine what works and what doesn't. Boomers are more apt to stay at one company and become comfortable with how things are done. They haven't seen other processes in motion and as such, are wary of taking that leap in the fear of failure.
