So, school kids will be screwed?
No, just put a mask on them. That will prevent them from touching things, touching their eyes, touching their face.
Absolutely nothing can penetrate a mask.

One neighbor (internal doctor) and another (GP) have basically said practice good hygiene, wash hands and disinfect surfaces where multiple people touch. Don't touch your face if you haven't washed your hands.
The elderly & ill need to police themselves and Shelter at Home. Get someone to shop & pick up med's for them, order online and have home delivery. They strongly urge people to stay healthy and if you aren't healthy, then get your arse moving exercising and eating right.

Mine are saying men should be wearing condoms at all times and women should be using some sort of cork/plug for their vaginas. The virus can attack and enter any human orifice at any time. Men stay vigilant, women stay plugged

I know they ask a ton of questions when people are admitted to the hospital with Covid. I just wonder how many people are known to have caught Covid and confirmed that they took precautions, wore a mask in public, avoided crowds, etc..
They have this number I guarantee it.

One of my best friends is a pediatric radiation oncologist, so by no means an expert on the current panny, but she says use common sense as you would during a bad flu season (wash hands, try avoiding touching your face when out and about, etc) and the risk is minimal. If you have an underlying condition and/or are elderly, be extremely vigilant with the aforementioned precautions, but still no higher risk than a bad flu season.

What are your doctor friends saying about Covid?
That it is real but has become politicized. It’s never been as bad as portrayed, but it’s never been a hoax either. It comes in waves. Some days/weeks seem normal and then bam there will be an influx in patients. Most don’t agree with complete lockdown but support some restrictions. It’s all about balancing and controlling the inevitable, which is that eventually it will run its course. They also doubt the success of vaccines as billions of dollars have been spent on corona viruses for years with no true vaccine. Why is this suddenly going to be different.

Any doctor who says they know a lot about this thing is lying to you. It's more serious than the flu. But in no way should we shut down for it. Let the kids play ball. Make granny stay at home if you're worried about her getting infected. Wear masks when in crowds. Wash your hands.
And don't eat bats.

You learn that the first day of med school. It is practical and scientific advice. On the other hand, this is from one of my friends that is an infectious disease MD..."you are going to get it unless you want to live in a sterile bubble."

Kids don't have to worry about Covid.
The regular flu is more deadly for kids. Do they need worry about the flu?

Family member is retired Md, anesthesiologist. Still volunteers at local places doing general stuff. She has since stopped because shes almost 70 and in the higher risk category. She says as follows:
1. its nasty for those in the high risk category, and they should be AT HOME until there's a cure.
2. don't get first round of any vaccine, ever
3. young people need to go to school, because they're unaffected. she even said hopefully this will push teachers into retirement that need to anyway
4. wash your hands. "i cant believe it took a global pandemic to get this point across"

My Dr. told me that if I feel sick stay home, don’t get tested
She also said this wasn’t going away any time soon & mental health issues were a huge problem

The one thing that IS effective about a mask, however, is that it prevents you from touching your mouth/nasal area inadvertently.
My doctor is politically conservative. He also works ER shifts once a week. He said it is legit despite conservatives blaming the hype of it all of on some conspiracy or Democrats in general. Wash your hands, wear the mask, stay back 4-6 feet from people, and sanitize. And you will be fine. His words.
