re: What does the OT consider a “good” salary?

I started out making $24k. I now make much much more. I have the same $20 in my pocket.
I honestly don’t know how anybody affords all the shite that average people buy and have any retirement savings making less than 250-300.

I'll be honest just because I don't give a shite about you people.
Just about anywhere posters here are commonly from/are living currently - over 100k is a "good" salary and offers them a comfortable life in an area that has a relatively low cost of living. If you and your spouse make over $150k per year together, you're basically upper middle class in most of the regions represented on this website.
You'll have a bunch of idiots with little man syndrome and fake egos trying to impress strangers on an anonymous message board trying to argue that isn't true, but we all know

A good salary:
Enough to pay for housing, transportation, food, utilities, a little entertainment, a vacation, retirement savings, and support your dependents.
In the case of me and my wife this is around 180k a year combined at the moment. The dependents (two in college) take a big chunk for the moment.

Remember: money doesn’t solve all of your problems…BUT, it solves all of your money problems.

Marriage is an inherently a negligent activity. It’s like owning a lion. The likelihood of someone getting hurt very seriously is incredibly high.
So ...
Welcome to the club. If you’re the one who chose it, you’re officially a statistical unicorn. Since women initiate about 70% of all divorces (and a wild 90% if they’re college-educated), you’ve essentially beaten the house.
I'll help you.
Divorce is a business transaction. Radio silence unless absolutely necessary.
Keep your cards close. Never reveal or show your hand before it is time.
Never leave your marital residence unless ordered by the court.
The more you fight, the richer the attorneys become.
If you have children, just remember that your children need you, and they most likely need you now more than ever. Just be “Dad.”
Focus on yourself and your children. Don’t talk about the other spouse in front of your children. Always take the high road.
It’s only a piece of paper. Focus on your healing and growth.

Not sure if I'm getting down votes because $150k is too high or too low?

You’re question is to broad and far reaching. Must provide specifics to get a relevant answer. Location trailer park etc.

Depends on life circumstances. Baton Rouge specific: If you bought a house before COVID, that’s easily $10,000-$30,000/year difference compared to buying same house after COVID. If you don’t have to send kids to private school, that can easily be $7,000-$15,000 per year difference, per child. I also have friends whose parents paid for their college and grad/law school. Even assuming inexpensive state schools, if you took out loans that’s easily another $10,000-$15,000/ year difference.

Any amount that you find satisfactory, while standing on your own two feet. No mooching off the the government, your family or anyone, for that matter.
To each his own.

Good point.
What's the least you could live on? It is probably far less than most people would say off the cuff. I think I could live pretty good, by myself, on about $20k a year. It wouldn't be a lavish lifestyle but I don't need fancy shite. I would have to live alone, can't imagine having a room mate, but I can live anywhere if I had to. I would be pretty satisfied in an old RV in a transient RV park or the lake house we are building. Being happy and satisfied is a mindset that requires appreciating what you have and doing what you can and not comparing yourself to others. One can live pretty large on even less than $20k a year if they are willing to live outside the US.....its all about your own needs, if they are expensive you gonna need more, if they are simple you gonna need less.
