The only way you could have ever “enjoyed” that place is to have been so fricked up the entire time that you may as well have no memory of it. Because realistically, Woodstock 99 sounds like a circle of hell, drugs or no drugs.

Dude, I honestly had a great time. I went with two other girls who had fun as well. It wasn’t perfect, but we were young and didn’t know any better. Maybe what you watched on Netflix was slanted. Yes, the sanitation was jacked up. And the price gouging was real. I will make no excuses for that. But they had an incredible lineup, and I’ve never felt that much human energy at any other point in my life. It wasn’t war, dude. Just leave if it’s that bad.

The trash was about 2 days. I doubt most people cared as they were getting drunk and high the whole time. I probably wouldn’t have shite and then I would piss wherever I wanted. The only thing that would piss me off is the prices. It was a short, 3 day quick drunk fest

My favorite part of that documentary was how they couldn’t help themselves at the end and had to get in their SJW messaging. They went with the me too movement and somehow decided that it wouldn’t happen this day and age. Like we’ve evolved and learn so much as a species in 20 years. Give me a break.

I watched it yesterday too.
I'm still upset I didn't go.

The line up was odd though. Why would Bush headline? Both were huge but Korn was bigger at that point. TRL was on MTV everyday with "Got the Life" locked into that number 3 spot. Every day for months. They were huge.
To have Bush end the day was odd.

Also for some reason I thought Limo Bizkit was last band and the riots started after "Break Stuff". Totally forgot there was a third day.
Seems like if they didn't hand out candles and promise some secret closing act and been cheaper on water it would have been a successful 90's festival.

Also horrible security planning too in hindsight.
That rave tent looked insane.

People can talk about how bad people were in the numetal Era but those were the days.

One of your generations biggest problems is always blaming someone else.

We fought in a 20 year war. We created things like this place to give you a voice (shout out to chicken and my gen X homies). We brought back good food and craft beer to the south. We are leading the movement to legalize weed. We were the child testers of all kinds of queso dip. Super processed stuff and not only did we survive this hyper processed stuff we thrives and transformed it into something even more beautiful. The Chimichanga.

Nobody was drinking shite water (I don’t believe). It was just on the ground around the toilets.

According to the documentary, the health official that tested the “free” water said it was so full of shite that when they opened the door that held the samples overnight, the smell made them sick.

I think our current society could use a 3 day drunk/drug music fest to blow off some steam, without the sexual violence of course.

The show said that water was contaminated.

I could imagine the scene there made all that other stuff not matter.
Back in the good old days when Molly was X and had Misubishi or playboy logos on it.

The line up was amazing though. Every band a band I would want to see.
No one can fault that line up.

Graduated HS in 99. There is a picture of a guy I graduated HS with tossing a table onto a pyre in one of the small town NY papers. As a vet of many many mosh pits I wish I could’ve gone because the energy of that crowd during some of those sets was insane(also watched it last night).

OP doesn’t realize that we all pack chain saws.

I mean you definitely suck but treating generations as a monolith is pretty stupid

It's hard to believe I'm agreeing with you about something but the bolded part is definitely true. You can find good and bad in any generation. I think I don't really get into the generation arguments because I kind of fell in between, I didn't quite fit in with the boomers but I was just a bit old for a genX.

I don't really identify as either one

I was no fan of the producer but I do kind of agree with him that if you had 300k people ANYWHERE there would likely be a few issues like the sexual assaults. Especially if all structure and services break down like sanitation and access to clean water in 90+ degree weather. Start price gouging and that throws more fuel on the fire. Add in the drugs and it would happen during any generation.

First of all. I’d appreciate you not lumping any type of millennial in with Gen-X.

Secondly, we still don’t give a frick.

FA-FO on that one.

The rest of your words aren’t worth reading.

Lastly get a job and stop expecting daddy-govment to take care of you.
