The voodoo V8
The sound of that flat-plane crank and crazy redline is beautiful. I get the exotic engines and all, but to have it presented in kind of a muscle car way is awesome. I know the GT350 is a true track demon not muscle car.....but it has muscle car in its genes

Ford's 427. From the side oiler version to the SOHC, no engine is more accomplished. Side oilers dominated NASCAR (they outlawed the SOHC) and the SOHC dominated the NHRA, and dominated Le Mans until it was outlawed there.
427 powered vehicles were running in the 10s in 1964, with 1964 technology, and 1964 tires. In 2009, a 427 Ford Thunderbolt ran 9.23 @151 mph in the 1/4 mile.
There will never be another engine as badass as the 427 FE from Ford.

It's gonna be an old school bowtie smallblock, but not sure which.
Just give me a good solid block core and a bunch of rotators and reciprocating parts and I'll change it as I see fit.
Anywhere from 406 down to 283.
ETA...no, this:
Blueprinted Little M/427 cid
225+ cranking psi
Full roller valvetrain
AFR heads
Custom matched roller cam
Aftermarket efi
Let me have two. One for my hotrod and one for my daily.

AMC straight 6. I’ve had 3 jeeps with them and while everything else has broken down and fallen apart, the straight 6 is always a fricking hoss.
