If I am outside, cutting the grass or jogging and I see them out I’ll wave and maybe stop to have a small talk conversation but I’m not gonna go out of my way. Live and let live as they say.

I never want to talk to neighbors.
I'd prefer never getting the chance to exchange names.
I just don't care about bringing more people into my life. They always introduce some kind of bullshite or drama that doesn't concern me.

It seems you have a pretty miserable life.

My next door neighbors moved in a few months ago.
I have never spoken to them. They wave.
They bought an expensive house. I'm the poorest person on the street by a country mile.

It's actually pretty pleasant because I don't have other people bringing bullshite and drama into it.

Wait for an opportunity. When you just drop in on someone, you don't know what they have going on at that time. If you see them outside you can go introduce yourself, but people don't go outside like they did in the past..

You should buy the house across the street from me.
It's for sale. You can move in and I'll introduce you to my two pit bulls.

Growing up there was this man who was known to be "mean". He was also pretty wealthy. He was in a middle class neighborhood, but he dressed nice and had 3 Cadillacs he was always washing. His wife passed before I was old enough to remember her, but I had to sell candy for school or some shite so I went door to door and I went to his house and I asked if he wanted to buy candy and he told me he didn't eat candy.
I told him he could make a donation and he said to me "Here is your lesson of the day. If I don't want to buy candy and just gave you money, what do I get? I said "nothing". He said "Exactly money is used to trade for good and services. You are not offering any goods I want or need or any services so I have no reason to give you money". I told him my teacher told us to remind people they can make a donation and he told me "you should teach your teacher the lesson you just learned". And I thought that was hilarious and ever since I liked that old man. He wasn't mean, he just wasn't giving people shite just for no reason.
For some reason this post made me think of that.

BBQ
It brings everyong together
Discover their politics, if too liberal AND they won't keep it to themselves then...
Never speak to them again
and you'll get along forever
Works for me and neighbor on my left

This is why I don't care about meeting my neighbors.
This a-hole invites people over to meet each other for the first time and wants to discuss politics.

I'm sorry
You misunerstood my post. Probably my fault because I was posting here and bidding on a Coen Brothers Blu Ray set on eBay.
I NEVER discuss politics or religion with people I will need to deal with on a daily basis...neighbors, co-workers, bar buddies etc...
I meant the neighbors and friends who constantly want to throw their opinions in your face like my nextdoor neighbor to the left.

Mow while open carrying a 1911. If they're the right kind of neighbor, it will spark a conversation at the mailbox. If they're the wrong kind of neighbor, you didn't want to talk to them anyway.

You should be the first to reach out and welcome them. We've all been in similar situations and were nervous about everything. Knowing you have nice neighbors is a big relief.

Hire a Private Eye to surveil them. Gather a bunch of info about their schedules. What time do they leave the house for work or school. When do they return. Any dogs or other pets? What kind of home protection system do they have and how to disable it.
Are they illegal aliens? If so, that's an important thing to know. Check out their garbage. You can tell a lot about a family by analyzing their garbage.
Then send them a Christmas card. You can make friends with them now because you have all you need to destroy them.
