Landscaping. Legit Uncle Sam job? Worked at party city. If you want to work in sales retail is a great first step on refining customer service and communication skills. I sell industrial supplies now and love the shite out of it.

Bet-R Grocery was my first.

Tried to get a gig at the hardware store across the street first but they never hired me despite calling everyday for 3 weeks.

Rode my bike to work until my dad passed me in the pouring down rain. Had a truck in the driveway a week later.

Ballin back then making $3.85/hr.

Summer of 1984, Fantasea Water Park (now Blue Bayou). It didn't open until late summer (end of July). Worked there until school started in late August, then went to work at Warehouse Foods #2, corner of Airline and Old Jefferson.

Stock clerk at the local grocery store. Wasn’t a bad gig. Store closed at 7 and managemnt left shortly after I got there. All I had to do was refill the milk cooler, front the canned goods ailse, sweep and lock the doors on my way out. Saved enough to buy a truck.

Worked in the kitchen at Chelsea Street Pub in Cortana, until the Labor Board reclassified it as a bar and all the under age kids were laid off.

I worked at a Sears store in the department where people picked up and paid for their catalog orders. This was back in 1982. One thing I learned is that it's a very bad idea to screw up an old lady's underwear order. Very bad.

Luther’s BBQ

Edwin Edwards would come in every Thursday with his entourage to make an appearance, make a walk through the kitchen, and then meet to talk shop with his cronies. If I have to hear Dolly singing Hard Candy Christmas once more my head will explode.
