I would’ve been in my junior year of HS. I was dating my ex—father of my 3 kids.

This is the year I learned "Don't stick your dick in crazy".

Living in Athens at UGA, and did the East Coast Phish tour that summer, up to the Lemonwheel in Maine.

Where were you living?

Old Metairie just transferred from East Texas (Liberty)

What were you doing?

Subsea Technical Sales in the Oilfield for Cameron in the New Orleans office

What was your trajectory at the time?

I was 35 and I got a couple of years sales experience before moving into project management where I have been for a couple of companies now. Family was young with a one-year-old and three-year-old child.

1998

Living in Orlando, FL and building stuff at Disney and MGM. Biggest project was Wilderness Lodge Timeshares/Resort. Did a bunch of work installing the FastPass lines, converting one attraction to another (like Eastern Airlines ride to Buzz Lightyear).

I was single, enjoyed the heck outta my free time with scuba and surfing, played a few gigs with a band, and generally enjoyed myself as a full fledged hedonist.

Four years later, I married the girl I had been smitten by waaaaay back in high school. Moved to the metro Atlanta area and became somewhat respectable.

Yeah, 1998-2001 were some great times in Orlando for a bunch of us who had graduated LSU and wound up in the same area at the same time. We had known each other in school and formed one hell of a close knit group while we were all there.

Spring: Took an incredible political theory LSU grad seminar with Ellis Sandoz (RIP)--like 5 students around a table.

Spent the summer working in Palo Alto--parking cars (drove Steve Jobs's) and doing digital slide presentations for Stanford profs.

Started Tulane Law in the fall.

It was a very good year. I didn't get a cell phone until near the end of the year.

I was finishing up 9th grade. Life was super awesome!!! I just got my drivers licence, and gas was 0.98 per gallon. For 20 bucks I could get a full tank of gas in an old 89 Ford Probe, taco bell, and a case of beer.

Pretty sweet, Embassy Apartments near campus and probably when they shifted the old front 9. We used to throw the baseball and football on that old fairway near Embassy.

Last year or two of college makes you start feeling like a grownup.

Random 1998 memories: Boulder Colorado. My first child was born so it was a joyful year. I was working for Motorola in Greenwood Village; I had bought a home in a neighborhood called IndianPeaks just outside Boulder and spent my weekends hiking and skiing. I took my first trip to London that year, I met Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan with a friend that toured with Sheryl, I went to a million concerts at Red Rocks, the former Mrs. Pimp and I were having the time of our lives, I had CU football tickets and went to a lot of Colorado Avalanche games, was in crazy good shape, the music that year on KBCO was outstanding, things were cheap, food and drink were plentiful. It was an outstanding year. Much better than my life now, which is nasty, brutish and short.

Here's to 1998.

I was 19 and living in Ohio with my parents still.
I was making more money than I knew what to do with and picking up chicks with ease. I had a sweet car and a quad. I was only worried about chasing women and hanging out with other people who had fixed up cars

Still on that path. But hopefully soon things will be what I hoped they be. More to come.
