Thanks for the advice, Mr. Buffett.
Just like people who say put 20% down on a house payment when interest rates are super low.

5%. 100% the first 4%, then 50% for the next 2% of salary.

5% up to a $5k cap.

Current and previous employer are 1:1 up to 6%. New company I start with next month matches 1:1 up to 10%. A company I was with for many years previously was 2:1 up to 6%.

From my experience, this is yet another benefit that employers have been whittling down over the years.
Got rid of pensions, now trim that 401k matching to the minimum.
It's going to be for this very reason millennials and younger will have a hard time in the job market, for the older employees aren't retiring, because they haven't really saved enough, nor will be provided anything.(unless it's a government employee)

100% of the first 3% the 1/2 of the next 2%.

20% up to 5% of salary. Not good but I’m counting on being in a much lower tax bracket in 5-10 years.

6% technically, but that is the “match”. Once vested in 3 years, you get an automatic 3% on top of the 6% . So 9.
Everyone please make sure you are hitting the 401k max every year, you will regret it once you get older. I’m 32 and have coworkers in their mid 40’s that don’t have what I do in my 401k. That’s not a subtle brag at all, it’s just a sad thing. Retirement should be a goal one looks forward to.

i contribute 6% of my salary and they double match it at 12%

0%, though I did get 40k shares when I signed on. We're a startup.

100% up to 7% of annual salary.
If you contribute the full 7% then they contribute an extra 4% of annual salary.
Edit: Also have a pension plan with current employer. Pretty happy with benefits package they offer here.

125% match on the first 6%.
Posted on 12/9/19 at 10:56 pm to Eli Goldfinger
No match. Everyone gets 15% of their salary deposited into their 401(k) regardless of whether or not they contributed anything that year.

50% match up to 5% of salary. Not great, but we also have a pension plan so that helps.
