I don’t understand how anyone hasn’t already returned to normal. For months I’ve been back at work on the road around the B’ham metro area, an average day for me is visiting job sites, offices, shops, plants, quarries, and mines. I usually cover around 200-300 miles a day. I meet dozens of people, and almost daily sit down in a restaurant for a business lunch with customers. On weekends I’ll do things like go play golf, take my family out to eat or go on a day trip or something similar. I’ve gone to the beach on vacation and did the things one normally does while on a beach vacation. I come and go constantly as I please as I’ve done for decades. And I do it as someone who is in what is considered the “high risk” category.
There is nothing special about me. I’m just a normal guy. If I can do it when anyone can do it.

No way bars and restaurants stay closed/limited capacity all the way until the election, right?
You think bars will be open without restrictions within 6ish weeks?
Seriously?

November. After the election. Whenever the Dems finally give up.

I highly doubt that. That opens them up to some big lawsuits and too many egos involved. They'll have to back it out slowly just on principle... to save face.
It's a sunk cost fallacy.

It’s just really weird how negative everyone seems to be. I get these circumstances are unfavorable but you’d think with a vaccine and approaching herd immunity things will be just fine again. Not sure where the negativity is so prevalent, especially on this board.
You can't actually be serious. I now have to cover my nose and mouth for 8-10 hours a day as I try and communicate with and help people at work. I'm pretty sure this fun shite has made the decision to retire about 10 years early 'the new normal.' Unfavorable? Please send me a sample of the kool-aid you on son.

I'll say this, all of the shutdowns and being at home so much has had a tremendously negative impact on me. I have struggled with anxiety issues most of my life, and something about spending so much time at home over the last few months has made my issues so much worse. I don't know if being at home more gives me more time to think about the things that worry me or something, but things are worse than they've ever been. I would rather have just gotten COVID in March and moved on with life as normal than go through the hell that I have gone through with my anxiety during all of the shutdowns.
