my town is about16000 population. not many choices. drive thru: DQ is great, mcdonald’s is great, sonic is great, nobody is ever at BK, chick-fil-a is great, chipotle is slow, arby’s is good, kfc is ok, chicken express is ok, churches is slow. problem i see is you go to buy chicken and they don’t have what i order.

I think chick fil a had a lot to do with it. Places care about the reports the drive thru wait times. Chick fil a got so much notoriety for being the best. So everywhere else that doesn’t have great service figured out how to game the system to trick their numbers.

I understand if you have a big complicated order. I get asked to pull up for the simplest of orders. A sausage biscuit + hash brown. Even with nobody behind me. Boggles my mind.

And then somebody pulls up and goes through with no delay and I’m like what the frick did they order?

Taco Bell on Sherwood makes me pull up even when there isn’t another car in the drive thru line

I debated just saying no I’m not pulling up but I don’t want Felecia’s saliva or pubes in my food

App order and decide when you arrive if you need to change it to pick up at the counter or if you can leave it as drive thru. More than 4-6 cars and I just walk inside. I don’t like waiting behind the minivan orders.

I worked at McDonalds in 92 and we were doing this. So it's been around.

Same for me when I was in high school in the early ‘80’s. It’s nothing new.

Why make people that ordered off the menu as made food wait for picky, special order people.

The first sign was pulling up to a window to get your food. It’s fast food.

I mean, Sonic in Geismar used to just randomly be closed for no reason. The fast food business model doesn’t really work anymore, at least not until everything is fully automated.

One time at the McDonald’s on the corner of flannery and Florida. There were 3 of us pulled forward with ZERO people in line behind us. Surreal sight.

Because the picky, special order people were there first. It really is just that simple.

It only pisses me off when there's no one else behind me.

This seems like a sign of a poorly run restaurant. This seems to be a recent development.

Culver's does it by design. They have about 8 or so parking spots on both sides of the lot going in the same direction the drive-thru line is going. It runs smoothly.

Ordered just a sausage biscuit on the McDonald's app the other day.
Pulled up to curbside spot.
Got my biscuit 14 minutes later.
