My son had surgery a couple of weeks ago and had to be admitted to children's hospital. Masks everywhere. It was so stupid. Patients were not required to wear them but whenever a doc or nurse came in our room we had to mask up. My 9 year old in that hospital bed who has probably been picking his nose and wiping it on the bed isn’t masked, but his parents who have been breathing the same air as him since we’ve been in the hospital have to wear one to talk to the nurse coming to check his IV.

This has been happening since PPE was invented, not just since 2020. Ask AmosMoses, he’ll tell you all about it.

I’ve been to a hospital recently and they didn’t require a mask.

Bad tooth pain wrecks my head and the worst I had was when I needed a root canal and waited until I should have done it a few weeks earlier.
The dentist told me at that time it would let me know when I waited too long-----and it did.

That's almost 2.5 years.
Almost all old/frail just like the flu etc which can kill up to 80k in a few months(a few years ago). The #s are skewed higher due to very aggressive labelling deaths as COVID. I'm not saying it's not high 100s of thousands, but it's not a million.
Rona is just like any other respiratory virus. Keep away from old/frail people. The rest don't need to worry.
Nothing we have done has prevented death/infection in non frail/old people.
In my opinion, the shots have helped frail people to some extent.
Beyond frail taking a shot or two, there's nothing we can do.
It's well beyond time healthcare accepts this reality. They won't though. Because, Joe engineer, or Johnny refinery operator on Tiger Droppings was right all along.

Correct, I've had far worse respiratory infections. I had the sniffles to days with Covid.

Ok…
Say I have zero symptoms related to Covid but I get mugged and shot in the chest while walking through New Orleans.
I’n brought to the hospital and they test me for Covid and it comes back positive. I’m rushed to surgery for the gunshot wound and die on the OR table
Did I die from Covid or with Covid?
And this is not a trivial point. Many cases like this were added to the Covid death toll even though Covid played zero role in the death.

How many do you think? Give me an estimate. Because this is not a meaningful distinction for any patient I've encountered.
