bunch of dudes in here always complaining about not getting action from their wives.

You'll never hear this complaint from me, and I'd have no problem buying a minivan. If you have a lot of shite and small kids, there simply isn't a better vehicle for you.

The kind of people that worry about the image their vehicle conveys are people whose opinions don't matter.

Do you wear cargo khaki pants and carry a backpack everywhere?

Have you updated your attire in the past decade for reasons other than utility?

Yes. Clothes and a vehicle aren't remotely similar is necessity of utility though.

Got one when we had the third kid and we have enjoyed it. Traded my full size truck in (i now drive the commuter car) and haven’t looked back since. In 3 years I have needed a truck 3 or 4 times. I just don’t have the need to tow or haul anything.

With multiple kids the auto sliding doors are awesome. Don’t have to worry about banging into other cars when the kids get in and out. The van has plenty of room to haul lumber, I can fit 4x8 sheets of plywood in the back after removing the middle row.

For those rare times I need a truck I’ll pay for delivery out of what I’m now saving in gas instead of commuting in a truck.

You keep saying this but all of your posts in this thread say the complete opposite.

Hence, embarrassing.

I guess what i'm telling you is that you're now faced with a paradox. You care enough to not dress like a weirdo, all practicality aside, but you're willing to drive a vehicle that looks ridiculous. The reason men who have given up on life drive minivans is actually because when you decide to drive a minivan, you will let everything else slide because it no longer matters.

Because no matter what you do, you're going to hop in that van and look like a clown. And your wife will lose a little bit of respect for you every time she sees you behind the wheel

I would buy an extra car before I would drive a minivan. Just my .02. Just splurge and get an SUV. Your family will thank you.
