Michael Jackson and its not even close

I must have miss the part where Michael Jackson was inducted in to The Country Music HoF, and The Gospel Music HoF, on top of selling 25 million more records than The Beatles.

Jackson fan boys may as well come to terms with the fact that between the two, Elvis will forever be regarded as the bigger star, and no one understood that better than MJ, who married his daughter, the farce that it was, just so he himself could in some way be attached to Elvis' greatness.

I remember reading a marketing case study around 05 that said Michael Jackson was the most well known man in the world, only second to Jesus. I think Muhammad was third.

Elvis was high on the list as was Hitler, Princess Diana, Jordan, Churchill, Ali, Einstein, John Wayne. Maybe it was perfect timing, but Jackson’s reach was incredible.

My parents married two days after Elvis died. They nearly postponed the wedding because everyone was so distraught over it. And these were normal, everyday people, not crazy fans.

From a world wide point of view it’s Pele’. For just the USA it’s Elvis.

I think it’s Paul McCartney. He was a member of one of if not the greatest musical acts in history. The band and music had and have enormous cultural significance. He has had a very successful solo career. And he’s lived into his 70s and is still quite active and vigorous. He tours the entire world selling out venues in every country. And he is a billionaire.

If we're going by fame, it's probably Charlie Chaplin.

Silent movie stars were famous around the globe in their day and he was the biggest name from that era.

Not really a fan but this has to be the right answer. M. Jackson would be a close second.

<——Was age 15.75 when Elvis died.

It was hardly mentioned in my world then, about like when Abe Vigoda passed away.

I lived in the Deep South, not in Albania or Swaziland.

Now when Fatty Arbuckle passed away, oh-veh!, let me tell you, the weeping and the wailing and the gnashing of the teeth!
