I do as well. It's a family name for me. I wanted to use it as a middle name for one of my girls, but three older cousins beat me to it.
But as for white trash names and convoluted spellings; All Star cheer tells travel baseball to hold its beer.

Joe Gannon's Vitalis game was strong.

I don't understand the alternative spelling thing also. My daughter has 10 letters in her name, and people tried to convince me to alter the name, they only have a million ways to alter it.I refused, her name is a extremely powerful name, in my opinion, and to change it changes the meaning. Plus she was named after my grandmother, unintentionally.
I think some people forget, babies don't stay babies forever. And when they go to get jobs, rainbow bright (yes I knew someone in school that did) might cost them a job.

Huh? Who cares? Name your child whatever you want. Unlikely it will last if they do not like it. If they can chop their dicks off and claim to be girls they can easily change their names to whatever they want.

anything ending in the letter 'n' seems to be popular. Don't get it.

Matthew & Christopher were like the Top 2 names in the late 80's & early 90's. Your average Matt & Chris are like ~26 years old. I also doubt that Robert, William, and Bradley have taken a big hit.

Go the the middle of a little league park during practice and yell Hunter or Hayden. Guaranteed at least 3 kids on each field would turn and see who was calling them.
Oh and to answer the original question. Stupid, trendy douchebags are why the -ayden craze happened.

It was my grandfather's name, and had my daughter been a son it would have been her name. Great name!

It's a name. My son doesn't give a shite and neither do I. If he gets married at Walmart he will live up to it. I imagine the level of trash on this board would reach epic proportions if we all used our real names.
