If your office is cold, sure.

It's also the least practical of the pieces as it's the most difficult to take off.

I get the practical aspect of a vest. It's clearly not as warm as a jacket/sweater, but it's easy to keep on and wear. It's clearly the least warm option.

If you live in the South, I can understand why you may not wear them but they are very nice in the Northwest

This along with the hate scarves get on the board is a very south of I-10 baw mindset. "Why would anyone wear a vest when there are camo duck hunting jacket?"

A sweater in LA is too much to wear all day. By noon, you dying to take that bitch off. A vest, is just like a lite sweater, except its more durable and your arms / arm pits don't get hot.

Depunds on the sweater, many are a bit drafty.

Nothing is as beneficial as a vest for layering.

I recommend the crap out of vest for active people who know how to layer. I know I don't have Alaska or NY weather but the highs have been on average low 40's here for the last few months. I love to bowhunt, big jackets that will keep you warm for a 10 hour sit make it dang near impossible to shoot a bow without catching it on something. A good base layer, vest and light jacket lets has let me sit for 10+ hours in sub freezing weather lately.

And to the guys talking about cold arms. IF my core stays warm I don't worry about my arms, as long as they are covered in something semi wind resistant. Twice in the last month and a half I've gutted deer and then washed my hands in either snow or ice skimmed water. They didn't feel the least bit cold. Warm core equals warm body.

Yep, I don't have to take the vest off, but can easily toss a layer over it.

Just think, we are getting closer to being able to wear old man hats next.

One of the only good parts of getting older is being able to wear whatever you want and not give a frick about what the little whiney youngsters think.
