What are the biggest beefs with these cities?

Every state has some shitholes, but for christs sake, many of you La residents shite on every city in the state.
every single city in LA has at least one major malfunction

You ever been to the rest of Louisiana? Covington is like Monaco compared to the rest of this flaming dumpster of a state.

I don't live in Louisiana, but can give you some positives for people passing through compared to other places in Louisiana -

1. I can spell it correctly the first time
2. 5 Guys Burgers close to the interstate exit
3. A bunch of Marriott brand hotels tucked in an area where I don't have to worry about my car getting broken into

It's kind of what you do when you live in the worst or second worst state in the country.

I grew up in Covington. Live in Nola now.

I'll say, if you're married and/or have kids there's no question you move to the North shore. You'll save money on a house, your kids education, and not have to worry much about crime. It's a no brainier.

That's why people live there.

Well that and you also have the small town crowd that will never consider moving 5 miles away from their family.

Seriously you think Covington has a better downtown atmosphere than downtown Hammond? No way.

There is only ONE way around. THere is no fast way to get to places. It drives me nuts.

Not sure if you just arent familiar with the area or not but theres alot of ways to get around. You have Hwy 190, 1077, 59, 21 and many others. I happened to live off the 1077 exit so I never had to really worry about 190 unless I went somewhere around there on a weekend.

Now why woukd we live there? Lets see... tons of shite to do when it comes to the outdoors, the area is very clean, its very safe, theres really nice parks for the kids, close to the water, small town feel even though its growing alot, we could get a newer home on a lot that was 0,9 acres and had green space behind it, had really really good schools, and we were close to under an hour drive to BR, NOLA, or Miss if we wanted to go.

I lived in Baton Rouge for 30+ years and have worked in NO for almost 10 years now. If you really think that Covington has bad traffic, you must not truly be familiar with traffic in NO or BR. Hell 190 isnt bad once you get about 3-4 lights down. Its really just the merge to and/or from 12 thats bad. Other than that 21 is only bad when you get to the construction which is certainly understandable.

At least in places like Slidell

Slidell is such a shite hole. It's full of toothless fricks from Mississippi and the thug trash from Nola east. It's disgusting.

I hear they're building a loop in Covington. It's in the budget right after the Baton Rouge loop.

I get why you have a hard on for Hammond, but just no. Covington has better stores, more restaurant choices, better parking, and less hood. It’s not even close. The only thing downtown Hammond does really well is events, and open bars.

I'm planning on moving to Madisonville so I don't have a hard on for hammond. However, when comparing downtown hammond to downtown Covington there is no comparison, Hammond wins that matchup. Better stores , more restaurants, etc. in downtown.

Hammond is where you visit and Covington is where you live.

New Orleans is good to visit, that's it. There is absolutely no point to living in New Orleans. I live in Metairie, and I can get to most places in New Orleans faster than people that live in New Orleans
