London banned guns and the murder rate increased. Guess why? Because people will use weapons of any and every variety to kill. It’s what we do. You know what stops and prevents most school shooters? A good person with a gun.

Because we don’t utilize the electric chair anymore. Fire up ol’sparky & fry a few motherfrickers & people will get that act right back in’em.
I don’t mean letting violent criminals sit on death row for years, as soon as the seat cools in the chair, sit another down & wire him up to ride the lightning. MEGA

Ah, I was waiting for the “we need more guns” argument. Clearly the solution to stop people from shooting each other is to have more guns around

Do those other countries have soft targets like we do with gun free zones?

Because the rest of the world still values the traditional family with a dad that will whoop your arse when you screw up.

Most school shootings stem from drug and gang violence in high minority low income inner city areas.

Lots of reasons. A lot mentioned in this thread already.

Population.
How the US measures school shootings.
Access to a ton of guns vs. other weapons.
Strict drug laws vs. lax gun laws.
Lots of schools near very shitty neighborhoods.
Violent culture, especially with regards to guns.
Gang problems reaching into middle school. Significant drug use and sale to go along with that.
Lack of support system for many children and teenagers.

Could go on and on.

Social media
Incel narcissism
Mental illness
Easy access to guns
Lunatic mentality
Terrorism

Best way to prevent this:
Foil the plot, hang them in the streets

Funny thing is Switzerland is ranked safer than everyone of those countries listed and they have machine guns. Kind of blows the whole gun thing out of water. Estonia allows assault weapons and I never see a comparison for some reason.

Population is the biggest reason. Per capita you are probably more likely to die from a school shooting in Canada, France , or Germany or its about the same. I heard Glenn Beck talking about this exact topic.

People don't walk around with them in Switzerland. They are issued for homeland protection.

Negative. The US isn't so much bigger than those countries for the per capita numbers to be the same. Kids there are probably more likely to die in a stabbing, though, just due to relative ease of access to a knife.

If it's anything like the Wikipedia list ( School Shootings in the US), then it includes college shootings as well. Also appears to include anything on a school's grounds.

So what’s your position then? Repeal the 2A?

quote:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Why are we addressing a mental health problem in this country through means of violating one of our most precious fundamental rights?

Got numbers to back that up?
I’ll get you started. Germany has 25% of the population that the US has. How many people have died in school shootings in Germany vs the US?
