In fairness, these women probably drink soccer mom chard by the truckload (decidedly non-classy)

My 81 year old mother in law is drunk on Chardonnay every damn night. Like she starts at 3:30 and is plastered by 7.

My grandmother drank gin on the rocks starting around 9am and was plastered by the time her stories came on at 11.

I don’t like wine, and I don’t like beer, though I’m trying to learn which ones I do like. Mostly I don’t like beers that taste like beer, so I stick to bourbon and ciders. I also don’t drink every night, so there’s that.

That's what my grandmother called them too. She would talk back to them.

I used to drink Malbec exclusively, but I buy Syrah or a California pinot noir most times now.

That’s at regular stores though. If I get a chance to go by 3tails, I like to get something off the wall. Even better if it’s a natural wine, just because I think they’re cool to learn about.

Apothic Dark is pretty popular.

What's more popular is a dry riesling in lemon Bubly (if you can find it).

This was on my mother's side and I wasn't particularly close to them. Woman drank more than a half a fifth of gin and smoked a pack of Winston Kings a day and lived into her 80s

Same thing happens with weed. Do you know many people have no idea what strain of they're smoking?

I’m on a Cali Pinot noir kick. The girlfriends family has access to a couple different Monterey valley wineries where we can stock up for the low low

WTF else are you supposed to do at 81. Sounds like she's living the life and you're just jealous.

Maybe because there are a lot of options to pick from? i know there are a lot of options when it comes to beer as well, but maybe more men feel insecure about drinking wine? I know a good bit of men who drink wine.

My grandmother use to start drinking wine every day right after lunch until she went to sleep. If you went over to her house in the evening, she was feeling right.. On the weekends she would drink more. Her daughter, my aunt.. Who is now in her late 70s is the same way, but I think she start at lunch time.

My dad use to drink a 6 pack every night.. And would drink wine from time to time, my mom didn't drink as much but when she does its usually beer.

I am a tequila man myself.
