I didn’t have Christmas growing up. No gifts. No tree. Just a normal day.

My parents would tell you that Christmas was a secular holiday and had nothing to do with Christ and that we could celebrate Christ everyday.

I think they just didn’t want the stress

So now as an adult, I don’t have much connection with Christmas. We do gifts, and lights, and a tree, because it means a lot to my wife and I do want my kids to have those warm memories, so I try my best to help foster that atmosphere, but it’s all for them. I don’t really care.

I don't think Jesus would approve.

My Mom passed on Christmas Day, My Dad is long gone, have no kids, so no grandkids, Christmas is just another day.

Past two years I have gone to visit with a fellow TD member, have a cigar, and talk on Christmas Day afternoon. If the weather is good, perhaps I shall this year.

I don't begrudge anyone who does celebrate Do your thing. Its just not mine.

I actually really love all the things leading up to Christmas, but my kid is grown and I'm single, and Christmas day itself just kind of makes me feel lonely and that there's nor really anything to get excited about anymore.
I don't put up a tree anymore because there's no one to see it but me, and it just feels a little pointless.

Every year, it's not what Walmart/Target/Amazon want you celebrate but's been this way for over a 1000 years.

So...Kid's day? Nothing to do with Christ. That's my point.

We're not religious and instead of buying a bunch of crap we don't need, we take that money and go on trips. We're going to Bonaire this year for Christmas. I'll be scuba diving Christmas morning and I can't wait. We do bring a stocking and stuff those with souvenirs for each other from the place we're visiting though. We open that stuff on Christmas.

My wife died 5 years ago. She was the impetus for putting up lights and decorations. She loved seeing the Christmas lights on the house. She’s gone now and I haven’t put up the Christmas lights since.

I can't wait for people to start setting up their Christmas shite on July 4th. It's on it's way.

aren’t you in your 80s? You should be counting your blessings to see yet another Christmas and cherishing it

Christmas is a microcosm of all that is wrong with American culture. And it gets worse by the year.

It’s no-one’s business but my own, but a lot of people are missing people that have passed on and Christmas brings it to the forefront, I lost my dad and my sister in November
