Screw DST. In fact, I don't really get why we need time zones. Everyone should just use GMT. If you can't grasp the concept that it's a different time of day in India or Japan or whatever, you should maybe stick to cleaning the grill at Burger King and leave international stuff to the people who paid attention in elementary school.

Think about it. We don't have "date zones" so that it can be cold on Christmas in Australia.

Among other factors, entire regions would never see the light of day. Ever.

Go back to Standard Time.

Same amount of daylight each day.

Better light distribution time wise through day.

Midnight is supposed to be in the middle of the night. Not 3 to 4 hours after dark.

Who gives a shite about going to work in the dark. Everyone should be up and at it at dawn.

I'm with you bro. I could deal w/ DST if it was just b/t Memorial Day and Labor Day.

am pretty sure it is just the opposite. DST increases outdoor activity and increases physical and mental health in the average person. Once it shifts back to regular time in conjunction with the days being shorter and colder there is a lot less outdoor activity for most people.

Whatever it is called when the afternoon gets darker earlier. That's what I'm talking about.

I bet it decreases outdoor activity and health drops.

Having later hours of daylight in the summer leads to decrease in outdoor activity? That’s the first I am hearing of arguments against daylight savings time. I would have assumed the opposite. I suspect outdoor activity goes up from March to November when daylight savings time is in effect.

Health is adversely impacted because of less sleep, though.

I actually thought about this with some of the Halloween decorations we had. When my 3 year old would get home, she would be upset that the pumpkins weren't inflated. I realized I had the dawn/dusk sensor on (out of habit with Xmas), and she would never get to see it if I didn't turn them on when it was daylight.

GET RID of Daylights Saving Time.

We do not need it to be sunny til 8pm when it’s 95 degrees in the Summer.

I say we go standard time everyday from 12am to 12pm and then DST from 12pm to 12am.

Buses are rolling at dark here all the time.
Due TO DST. When would kids have to arrive in the dark otherwise? The sun would rise at like 4 am in summer right? I see no need for DST and would prefer to stay on Standard time. DST F's with the circadian rhythm.

No one will know what time it actually is for a while, but it would be a small price to pay.
