Seriously, can anyone give me a real answer, as to why weed is still illegal in this country?

This is an easy answer.

Marijuana causes black men to play jazz and enjoy it. We can’t have that sort of thing going on in our society.

Because the country is run by a bunch of geriatric fricks, democrats and republicans alike.

Most large corporations have stopped testing for THC because of remote work employees. Some wfh employees live in states where it is legal. My latest drug test said clearly on the form NO THC.

You do realize that some of these companies have zero tolerance policies? That includes all drugs and alcohol. I’ve been removed from job sites because of legal prescriptions until my prescription was over. The risk of lawsuits from a death or injury are sometimes too great. Legal or not.

I do, but if I smoke a joint on a Saturday, and get a random the next week, then I’ll get fired, even though I’m not high, or any of that. No one is getting fired from having alcohol on the weekends, or during the week night. Now if you get in an accident, or appear intoxicated at work, that’s a different story.

Laws are made by the legislature in this country. In this country, when the legislature passes a law, something becomes legal. Or it becomes illegal. The same legislature does both things. At some point, the legislature made weed illegal. They haven't yet, as a legislative body, made it legal.

Signed,
Kamala Harris

I guess black people back in the day, should have just followed the rules and law, instead of trying to fight it then…

The drug test lobby is very powerful, coming from someone who is under more drug test scrutiny than your average drug court felon.

I fall under corporate, federal and client testing. My career is often in the hands of lab techs making not much more than minimum wage. I get tired of the shite.

Now consider it from an employers standpoint.

If I random test my employees who are at risk of causing a death or injury while on the job, and they fail, I've now eliminated a risk to my company before something can happen.

If it's a low risk position then I get it, no need to test. I don't ever see an instance where no testing will happen across the board. Unless of course, lawyers and lawsuits cease to exist.

What it boils down to, if you are in a position of responsibility, you should probably expect to be drug tested.

Because it can grown in your backyard and the medicinal properties would just about put big pharma out of business, and the thousands of corrupt people banking from big pharma would lose money and power.

I'm in project management in O&G which at the moment requires random testing which blows. It's an age old argument that I'd much rather have some dude that smoked 2 joints the day before on the crane than some fricker still drunk from the night before on 30 minutes sleep. It doesn't make any sense at all. The money on the state level would be unbelievable.

Louisiana just expanded the number of pharmacy locations that can serve scripts for medical marijuana. However only existing licensees were allowed to expand operations. Likewise, only LSU and southern will continue to be the exclusive providers. When asked about expanding the number of licensees, or the number of growers, or simply legalize recreational marijuana the main reasoning given by Edwards and other in the Louisiana legislature is it would not be fair to the existing licensees and growers who invested capital to change the system now.

It’s moments like that that make me want to throw up a little everytime someone describes Louisiana as a red state. Government here operates to protect the investment of sanctioned monopolies rather than the interests of the consumer/voter.

You actually up can’t. Contractor lot is still plant property.

Or shoot, I can be high on pain pills, but because a doc says it’s ok, then it’s perfectly safe, even though those pills will probably turn me into a heroin addict one day.

Most say you shouldn’t operate heavy machinery

Also, I agree. Weed should be legal.

What I want is a breathalyzer type test for active THC. I don’t want someone to smoke on Sunday, get in an accident on Tuesday, and test positive for weed and have the long dick of the law thrown at them.

To answer your question why isn’t it legal? Police and Sherif’s unions in rural America.
