10k is more than 8k any day of the year and we still haven't talked about that pesky state income tax Louisiana has.

So now you're using high school tuition for the entire cost of schooling? Elementary school is less than half of the cost of Brother Martin. Cute.

You should just say your public school isn't free and move on.

Again, it's not that it doesn't happen other places, just that Louisiana is a shitty place to have that mentality.

People, in general, are social beings, thus we put value on surrounding ourselves with friends and family.

I value friends and family over things like better geography and better roads.

Being factual about the actual cost is moving the goalposts?

Geography is up there for me. I can communicate with relatives via internet rather easily, and make friends anywhere.

You used an incredibly inflated number for the cost of LA schooling, while using a really low home value in TX. If those are facts, cool.

Even if I moved out of LA I'd send my kids to a private school rather than public if possible.

No need to do so in the excellent school districts surrounding the DFW area. These public schools are on par with private schools in Louisiana.

I questioned it actually being academically equal and he posted pictures.

The policy on fighting has a great deal to do with how a school educates a kid. The millieu and peer group matters.

Okay now you are just talking out your arse.

I linked the average tax bill of each area in question.

Since you are wanting to be obtuse, here is the provided values of 392/378k for each area. Actually, now looking at it I used the Median Listing price which means the average is actually LOWER. LOL

and the 10k figure is pulled off of Brother Martin's website. Go yell at them if you don't like the figure.

Nah, LA is the only place on the planet that happens in.

It most definitely happens other places, especially in the south. However, after having lived in Metairie, Mandeville and West Monroe, it seems to be amplified in Louisiana.

I love my family and I visit often, but I wasn't afraid to get the hell out when most can't accept change in their lives.

According to the Council for Economic Research, Houston MSA is 5.9% more expensive than Baton Rouge MSA. With a 16% difference in housing expense.
