Louisiana is without a doubt the trashiest state in the country and the reason why is the vast majority of people who live in the state just dgaf.

Multiple generations of low IQ residents that DGAF. I love watching a vehicle pull out of a gas station full of trash cans and start heaving garbage out the window. Or the mall parking lot that looks like a landfill. Trash throwing out trash.

It’s dirty because way more people don’t give a frick about littering than people that do AND the government also doesn’t place a large emphasis on trash cleanup/public presentation. If it weren’t trash on the side of the roadways, it’s full of old tires and other random debris.

Does every state have areas where litter is a problem? I think that’s fair to say. No place is perfect.

I've traveled the US more than 99% of this board and I can tell you Louisiana is the worst overall state for roadside litter. Parts of other states are worse sure but overall Louisiana wins.
ETA: I also defend Louisiana whenever I can. But litter is an issue that's obvious and indefensible

I've been to 47 states and I think we are the worst. Others are comparable though.

I beg to differ. Ive always been impressed with Floridas Emerald coast and North Ga. for being clean.
