Why was the cricket noise thread deleted from like 15 years ago

Just had a random occurrence where a cricket was brought up as driving a friend crazy on his back porch somewhere.

I find the sound of crickets to be relaxing...

I once was awakened by my brother outside(window open I guess it was fall I don't remember) our bedroom window at 3 am looking for a cricket. He had his flashlight out and I said wtf are you doing? His reply this fricking cricket is keeping me up. I guess he got it because i woke up four hours later and he was back in his bed. True story. All I got.

Our house is a cacophony of nature at night. Cicadas, crickets, frogs, bard owls, great horned owls, coyotes, the occasional bobcat cry, a constant waterfall, and the wind whips through the valley forest . Eta: forgot the whippoorwills.
I have tinnitus flare ups a lot when I wake up in middle of the night. Opening a window or sleeping on the porch masks it. And it’s just generally soothing.
