I am sure the wife was buying something important, like shoes or clothes.

Why don't you have a line of credit set up to auto transfer funds and then this never happens again?

Yes, we have "separate" accounts. Although, she has access to mine and also uses my account all the time. I make a lot of money so whatever.
A fool and his money are soon part.

I’m confused. Was this more of a subtle brag thread or a proof of being a dipshit thread?
The guys who have been there get it. I had never overdrafted my account in my life until my 2nd wife. It's frustrating as frick when a spouse is irresponsible with money.

Go easy on her, she’s apparently 80 years old if she’s stil writing checks

The people that say this usually don’t make a lot of money

Apparently, you don't quite make enough.
All things are relative.

I make a decent living, that might have been the better wording. Definitely not "buy whatever the frick you want without keeping track of the bank balance" kind of money.

There are a few times that writing a check is necessary.
- making a big purchase (vehicle, home, etc.)
- paying a contractor to do a job at your house (I feel more comfortable doing this than him talking to the 18 year old secretary at the office giving her all my card info)
- a check being held for deposit
I mean, yeah. Nobody writes checks at the cash register anymore, but you still need them from time to time.

I have my own account due to this, my wife (blonde) would never write anything down.
She would write $600-$800 checks and forget them.
Now we have HIS account and a his/hers

First off, you don't have any money. Your money is 'yalls' money. You don't own shite. You only own half of shite. That's what you tacitly agree to when you get married, at least in Louisiana. When you stop looking at it as 'yours' and 'hers' things will be a little more clear to you. You own half of her frick ups and she owns half of everything you think you own. The sooner you accept this the better off you will be.

As well as you should. Is someone arguing against this? Besides "men" who make less than their wife?

softball/basketball/dance/random school shite like a teacher gift/etc are all situations where checks are still handy.
Sure some folks have them square thing on their ipads/phone but most of that kinda shite is still handled by check. And a month is not uncommon for the
