You sound like a typical liberal husband who gets pegged.

I know you're a smart guy, but you're being incredibly naive about this issue.

Maybe so. I am almost 30 (young) and not yet married. Consider all my posts invalid.

Just my early opinion though

I REALLY doubt this is an alter based on Money Talk post history.

So marriage means you can't text anyone of the opposite sex without your spouses knowledge?

Marriage means you don't hide stuff from each other. It really doesn't matter whether this "friend" is really just an old friend. What matters is that she apparently didn't want the hubby to know about it for whatever reason, justified or not.

All this is really beside the point.

If you've been married for 11 years and one day you find your wife's cell phone and some dude has her number and she's hiding it and he is telling her he loves her and you confront her and she gets super defensive then your have been having marital problems for a long time and you need to thoroughly examine yourself and your relationship.

No happy trusting couple suddenly finds themselves in a situation like OP. This has been a long time coming.

Again, relationships are about trust. Either you trust her or you don't. Starting out trust is hard to build, but 11 years of marriage? You should know how to communicate and you shouldn't be snooping through her phone. At that point, you're well beyond the "maybe something is maybe wrong phase". You need trust. Regardless of the situation. And if you don't you trust each other, then you need to figure out why, not just force her out of any situation that makes you nervous.

"Oh hey babe, this is my friend Crystal [pronounced Criz-tahl]. She's kind of down on her luck and has been working at Larry Flynt's to make ends meet. I'm going to be spending some nights and weekends with her to get her resume in order and try and get her back on her feet."

Divorce wife. Marry him.

OP if your wife is already sniffing this guy's beanhole then he obviously has something going for him. Maybe he has a boat. Only one way to find out ^^^

Why is "guy" in quotations? Is there a possibility that it's a gal?

Marriage is two people becoming one and sharing a life.

Start keeping secrets, even small ones here and there, and the relationship has cancer. Eventually, it will spread, and it will die.
