We had a guy here in HSV that fancied himself to be a "local celebrity", was a real douche. Dan Satterfield. Got in a pissing match with the NWS because he decided to issue his own tornado warnings.
He has since moved on to chase his $$$ in the field of "climate change research".
He did have a saying that was pretty accurate however.
"There's always a surprise underneath an upper level low."
I have a feeling there is going to be a 30-50 mile wide stripe of that surprise somewhere between BHM and NSH.
Somebody is going to get hammered, it's just a matter of exactly where.

Pretty easy to sell me on that idea.

Winter storms are either difficult to predict with accuracy or the winter time is when they let the backup meteorologists get training. Difficult to know for sure.

A few hours of sleet so far in south Charlotte. Hasn’t changed over to straight snow yet, but the roads are already covered.

A true fear of mine back in my blackout drunk days. Only happened once though, so that’s good I guess.
