Y'all may or may not want to hear this, but the latest GFS model doesnt have BR above freezing until late Thursday. You know what the consequences will be if that's the case

Not sure if that's any better, anyway.
It's not, but I guess I would rather take away from Spring Break because I have a lot of money invested during the Mardi Gras holidays
I actually wouldn't mind them tacking on days to the end of the year.
The thought of LSU's starting on Wednesday does intrigue me, I never understood why they did that and originally thought it was a miss print on the schedule

Sorry I'm having Hurricane Issac flashbacks.

Why does LSU cancel class for bullshite like this again?
because there is a very high chance of snow/sleet and it will cause a nightmare traffic situation in BR on Tuesday afternoon if they don't cancel class. You don't really believe people can drive in that do you?

If overpasses are frozen and students wreck trying to get to school...people be suing.

Plus imagine if all of the students that commute to campus, go to their classes in the morning, then get stuck on campus because of ice on the roads
Talk about nightmare

Don't ever refer to the weather channel again. The NWS should be your only resource for legit weather info. The latest data indicates the cold hanging around which is not likely being incorporated into prior forecasts

My prediction is that we will only have class twice this week {Monday & Friday].
Oh wow. I'd be surprised if that happened. I tend to go a little pessimistic with LSU's scheduling methods...I'd say we'd only get off Tuesday or Wednesday.

LSU waited until around noon to cancel for hurricane Rita. I drove home in 40-50 mph gusts, and iirc, some students wrecked. I never heard what became of that but I'd be curious to know.

For the same reason the rest of the south does

I'd guess that 90% of the undergrad student population lives within 5 miles of campus. Would traffic be bad? yea, but not all that much worse that any other day. It's not like the students are getting on interstate and driving back to New Orleans. Most get in their car and drive 2 miles down burbank.

This is not a good reason. Most people will still have to go to work. Will they sue their employer if they get into a wreck on their way to work?

And the landmass still can't get shite

Seriously doubt that. Many people commute from all over BR.

Don't they have statistics that indicate most wrecks occur within 10 miles of your home? This is forced multiplied with icy conditions
