It’s really a shame that women should have to run in groups, be competent in self defense, carry mace and run without headphones on for their safety.
Especially at noon- or even at 0745 - the time shown in the Reddit link.

Yesterday, I heard the story on WWL radio. They described the guys car as being white and gold but completely left out a description of the perp. Of course, as you say, that tells us exactly what the perp is.

I respectfully disagree. It’s like providing a list of weight loss tips, and the first is “don’t be fat.” Good advice, but it defeats the purpose of the list.
(In all seriousness, usually an article like this would omit the first tip and state something like, “The police department discourages women from jogging alone but provides the following tips for single joggers:” Not a big deal, but I can see the mild humor in the screenshot.)

"Do not use earbuds and headphones" is probably the best advice on that list though.
I'll never understand completely plugging your ears and shutting off all the noise when running on public streets/crossing public streets/running around people....especially when you can buy a pair of Shokz headphones where your ears remain open so you can hear both your music and the noise around you.
