re: Workplace Misconduct - How To Proceed?

Hulkklogan, that is my main goal. Not to get her fired, transferred or demoted, but to inform her that what she did was inappropriate. No conservative should have to take those types of vile comments at work. Same thing for liberals.
I agree with you that the main goal should be a refresher to everyone that politics is off limits. That's what I'm trying to accomplish.

If your anonymous ethics line is anything like my company’s (18,000 employees) you can bet it will be followed up on. The only thing is that due to confidentiality of the female employee, you’ll never know what happens.
Unless she retaliates. In which case, she’s fricked.

9Fiddy my company in total has around 65,000 employees. I agree that most likely they will follow up on it but that I'll probably never know what happens, unless she decides to tell everyone.
So you don't think I should anonymously e-mail the Area Leader?

How is having a political discussion an HR violation? Or atleast how it is one even worth reporting?
If you don’t like the what’s being said, change the conversation- don draper

With that said, I don't know if I trust corporate HR to actually do anything.
Never trust HR. HR is a protection layer for the interests of the executives, not for the interests of the employees.

TH03 again how am I the enemy here? I wasn't the one who interjected politics into the world place. And we all know politics is the one topic above all else that should be off limits in the work place.

Good for you, let the area leader know.

No. You’ve done what you needed to do. At this point you trust the system. If she continues, then you can step back and re-evaluate.
I’m saying this as a supervisor with direct reports. I’ve been on the supervisor side of these investigations and believe me, they hold management accountable for follow up and documentation. Going multiple routes to report the same incident muddies the waters
Disclaimer: I’m basing my answer on my employer’s view on complaints and knowing the Chief Compliance Officer of our company personally and her attitude toward the complaints. You company could have some a-hole running the department.

Cool story but obviously not true.

Thank you for the honest evaluation 9Fiddy. It took way too many pages but it was this type of professional guidance that I was looking for. I will take no further action at this time but will continue documenting in case it becomes a regular issue with this female employee.

Just laugh and when she asks why you laugh just smile and shake your head. It will make her go mad and you didn’t even have to say anything

There’s no enemy. You’re just a huge pussy. Or a pretty good troll. Haven’t figured out which

Why am I a pussy for reporting employee misconduct? What do you suggest? Should I have just taken it?

Definitely do this. Even if it’s just a word document with on this day this happened type info. Document everything. One of the best lessons I ever learned 20 years ago from my first supervisor

Go meditate or something.
This is pathetic

Taken what? Someone saying something you disagree with or don’t like? Yes. That’s what stable adults do on a daily basis. Just roll your eyes and move on with your day. It’s really easy, I swear.

A few things:
1. You're a huge pussy
2. If you are dead set on sending an email, just say you would like to stop political discussions in the workplace, you gave way to much detail
3. Again, you are being a huge pussy

I personally wouldn’t write a letter because I don’t give a frick. I’m just here to point out the hypocrisy of everyone calling OP a pussy.
Because if the tables were turned and a supervisor went on a pro Trump/Anti Democrat rant in the work place and had a complaint filed against him here is exactly how all of your posts would look.
Chick sounds like a cun*t but........
(Insert 3 paragraphs about how you should have kept your mouth shut about politics in the workplace)
