If your whole goal is to replace America’s traditions, principles, ideals and Institutions, why would you unite with people fighting to preserve them when you could just throw in with the enemy who has the same goal as you? So no, the Progressives who own the Democrats are in the post- American phase of their ideological quest. They have already repudiated America’s traditions, principles, ideals and Institutions. The enemies of America are their friends.

No. Democrats would use it to criticize and blame, so that it increases their chances in upcoming elections.

This is why they have lost my vote. I can’t, in good conscience, vote for a party that is willing to let Americans suffer to advance their power.

I told someone this morning if this were foreigners doing all this, we would already be at war. At least the militia folks would. Antifa would duck and cover!

If the collective response Post 9/11 was any indication, the answer is a resounding yes. Americans quite willingly united to relinquish all of their privacy rights in the name of fighting terrorism.

“...if you don’t have anything to hide.”

Remember that gem?

ETA: Just looked. Here is how the senate voted on the Patriot Act, roughly six weeks after the planes crashed.

98 - Yes
1 - No
1 - Abstained

Gonna have to go against the grain and say yes. Uniting against a common enemy is as American as apple pie. It’s deeply rooted in our psyche.

Not a chance.

Our military would defeat the enemy.

But, half our country would spend the entire time blaming the other half of the country, and supporting the enemy, especially if it meant we could get rid of OMB.

Nah. It would be a good time to unleash a little friendly fire on some protesters though.

I guess I'm the odd one out here, because I say yes, well, mostly yes. I think there would be a very small group against it all as there is with any conflict, but most of us would pull together.

The people saying no in this thread are guilty of assuming the vocal minority are the majority, when they're not. There are a lot of people much closer to the middle than you care to admit. For some reason we've been divided into only two groups, which is asinine.

I hear what you say saying, but what you are describing is not unity.

I believe 70-80 percent of this country would come together. Nowhere near 100 percent.

Eh, I think more would come together than you think. We've rarely, if ever, been a unified nation. The only times in history I can think of being really unified are Pearl Harbor and 9/11.

There were still some small outliers during those times. Post Pearl Harbor, we imprisoned Japanese-Americans. We also had some wacko fringe fascists and socialists groups that were anti-war, but for the most part we were a united people. I'm kind of ignoring the whole segregation thing, which might not be fair. As mentioned in this thread, blacks did fight, but the actions were not reciprocated. Maybe we weren't as united as I originally thought.

Post 9/11 you had some islamophobia, and far-left types against the war in Afghanistan, but again, we were a fairly united people for about a year until we got involved with Iraq.

Depends on the attacking country. If it was Norway the lefties would join them. If it was Russia right wingers would welcome them.

This is a joke of course

No. The Democrats would side with the enemies, and their voters would cheer like retarded seals every time a "con" was killed fighting for a "racist country".

With all of these young pussies today? You would be lucky if you had someone in your platoon who knows how to change a flat tire.
