keep the dog on the chicken & rice (boil or grill the chicken and dont use any oil when making the rice) ..you can give him some kaopectate, or Pepto (use a syringe(no needle
) to shoot it deep in mouth between cheek and gums) ..the pepto can give him black stool..
if your dog is large , 80/90 lbs.. just use adult dose..ive done the same with shepherds and malinois
good luck

Or Get a second opinion?

Canine Pancreatic Lipase Immunoreactivity (cPLI) is the most reliable blood test for diagnosing pancreatitis in dogs, with high accuracy and specificity. It measures pancreas-specific lipase levels, which increase when pancreatic acinar cells are damaged.
SNAP cPL Test (IDEXX): A rapid, point-of-care test that provides a "normal" or "abnormal" result in 10 minutes. It is ideal for initial screening in dogs showing vomiting, abdominal pain, or anorexia. However, it only gives a qualitative result.
Spec cPL Test (IDEXX Reference Laboratories): A quantitative test that provides an exact value for pancreas-specific lipase. Results =200 µg/L suggest no pancreatitis, =400 µg/L confirm pancreatitis, and 200–399 µg/L are equivocal and require follow-up testing.
Dang, I didn't know they have tests like this for dogs. Dang, us lab people are just good!!!

it's 100% the food.
I have a 5 year old lab. We went out of town and ran out of food. Got him some Kibbles and bits instead of his normal top chelf bougie dog food and within 48 hours he got sick and shite everywhere.

Medicine continues to improve which is one reason why vet costs increase. Years ago "rural" vets would just guess based on symptoms.
Now every vet has access to run tests like this to give a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.

Anyone ever dealt with something similar or have any suggestions?
Yep. Get an x-ray asap to look for any blockages. I had a boxer who went through the same thing. Hopefully yours doesn’t turn out like mine, but by the time we got to the x-ray we found out it was cancer and it had spread all through his gut. At that point it was too late. Now the vet does the x-ray first on all his dogs with symptoms like this. Yeah, they’re pricey, and I’m certain there was nothing we could have done for my dog other than end his suffering earlier, but always check to see if they’re obstructed.
Same thing happened with the guy on here recently. Dog was severely obstructed and the emergency vet was able to perform surgery and fix it.
