Has to be a high end cruise line.
Has to be a high end cruise line.

saw... it used to be if you picked a longer (and obviously more expensive) cruise out of a good port they were great and minimal... culture. We haven't been since before covid.. still pissed COVID cancelled our week and a half sail through the panama canal!! but yea... seeing some of the social media coming out of cruises these days... I've told my wife we took our last cruise years ago and didn't know it
We did one pretty soon after all the COVID stuff ended. It was not up to the usual standards from our cruising experience. We haven't considered doing another one.

Wow, 80 cruises and you’re probably not 65 yet, those aren’t rookie numbers at all

I've been on one cruise and it was an awesome experience.

OldSarge.....you and I were good friends on Tigerdroppings but then I got banned a number of years ago for posting what I thought about Don Lemon. You and I had started a Bible study discussion in OT once which was quickly banished from TD
I hope you are doing good, glad to see the Aggies having a great season. Wish I was under 65 but well north of that mark now.

wtf do yall see in them?
I enjoyed my Med cruise with Seadream. You seem against relaxation and cruising the Mediterranean Sea while others wait on you, and to each their own, but I will do it again.

worry about food.
You see multiple places without the fatigue of traveling.
I've never worried about food on any continent I've ever been to.

fatigue of traveling
We're doomed. The fatigue of traveling? Goddamn, I've scheduled a 11 hour flight to Frankfurt, a 12 hour wait in the lounge, and a 12 hour flight to Johannesburg, and I wasn't fatigued when I got there. Maybe you're one of those types of people that books the lowest price stuff on Priceline or Expedia, and then get surprised when you don't have assigned seats, or a 7 hour layover in Chicago, etc.

If it did run out on the morning buffet, work into afternoon dishes, if it didn’t run out for lunch, work it into dinner, etc etc. You may have shrimp from the breakfast buffet that winds up in a gumbo the next day. Leftover Cakes and pies end up in a mixed dessert made into a dome cake. They push the limits. “Cook it longer it kills anything was the motto”
Ok, that's not surprising. I thought you meant like scavenging what was left on plates or something.

I’m guessing it’s mostly gambling which I don’t find amusing at all.

I’ve done it once to say I did. The wife and I did a Royal one out of Galveston. It was ok, but prob wouldn’t do it again. After 3 nights, I was ready to go home.
Never encountered the trash you see in videos posted. There was only so much trivia, karaoke, dance lessons, and average bulk food I could enjoy. I also don’t swim in public pools esp where people are drinking alcohol.

My wife plays a lot of baccarat and the casino is always giving her free cruises. We took one once and it was Carnival. Never doing that again and we have turned down several free Carnival cruises since then. It's really hard to convince an Asian to turn down free stuff, but I just remind her it's a floating trailer park and she changes her mind.
She did get one the other day that is Royal Caribbean we may take. Carnival was our only cruise experience, and it sucked so we want to see if RC is any better. The ships look 1000 times better.

Every ship that's ever gone to sea does this with food.

We did an Alaskan cruise last month with Princess. First time on one and actually enjoyed it a lot. Basically no kids, dindus, or really anyone under the age 30.

A lot of restaurants do it too. They don't just throw away whatever is leftover at the end of every meal service.
Want to know where bread pudding and bread crumbs come from?

I’ve been on 3 cruises - all on Seabourn. I swore I’d never do one, but these are awesome. Good thing is only unpacking once and seeing a lot of great places. The only negative is not enough time at each. There were a few where we overnighted, (Rouen and Malta) but they were the exception. Flights are expensive. We embarked in Barcelona, Lisbon and Dubrovnik

Are people lining up trying to force you to go on a cruise?
