call/e-mail the owner and make a low ball offer - odds are they'll take it.

yea, Garrett Realty doesnt seem to be that concerned, but they wont advertise the big discounts. Just call and throw out an offer.

In all reality though they are typically like this. I always get a discount this time of year just by asking. Maybe a little more this year but they always deal.

Stayed a month at Rosemary Beach last Summer and made a fifty percent offer below the internet posted price and they accepted.

Like many have said, the vacancy rate in the panhandle is ridiculous. If you go to VRBO.com and start browsing, you can find a house/condo you like. They have an availability calendar that you can check. If it's open when you want to go down, you can either call or e-mail the owner (their info is on the house's/condo's page) and make an offer. Many of these folks are desparate for any kind of rental income, so they'll take pennies on the dollar. If they don't accept your offer, you just say o.k. and move on to the next unit. Someone will accept sooner or later.
