I killed the biggest deer of my life exactly 7years ago today and held the horns up till the day that my taxidermist needed them to mount the deer. I told one of my buddies I’m somewhat sorry I mounted him because when I had the horns I was able to hold them and bring them on my porch and drink coffee with him, I relived tbat hunt every time and being able to hold them was different than just looking at him. Maybe I’m just Fd up

I dont know what you just said is it just me?

I kept the horns baw I didn’t let the taxidermist keep them,,, woodford impacts your ability to utilize correct words in sentence structure

Edit ,, you don’t have to mount them to make them special. Sometimes not mounting them is better

I get it. I found a massive shed in Kansas quail/pheasant hunting its on my desk at the house. It’s really cool to not just see it from all angles, but hold it. My best deer has a really cool kicker on the back side of one of his bases but you can’t see that 7-8’ in the air on the wall.

All I was really doing was saying that’s one of the best looking racks I’ve seen in a long time and he’s gonna make one fine mount.

I agree. I like holding them in my hands. Not sure I’ll shoulder mount another. I have enough big ones on the wall.

I've never been a fan of shoulder mounts personally. As they age I find they start to look worse.

there’s a very very short list of things that don’t look worse with age.
