Went into Natchez to grab some food and get gas. Was planning on taking a short nap in the truck at the parking area at Yancey.
Just woke up from a 2 hour nap covered in drool with a really sore neck! May just ease into the woods and lean on a tree for the last 1.5 hours.

Hunting a shooting house on a food plot this afternoon with my 30-06. Wind is gusty as hell. I saw 3 deer crossing the road around 11 am this morning when I left my morning hunt. I will be happy to see anything tonight even if it is bambi. This wind isn't bringing good vibes though.

Did some scouting midday, and then came to an area I hunted pretty hard at the end of last season. Had a 6pt in here last year that I could’ve killed on 3 different hunts. He wasn’t a bad deer then, would love to see what he looks like this year.
Do it. I found 2 fresh scrapes today about 15-20 yards off a main road. You don’t have to go in far.

Got home from a half day of work. Mathews Lift X arrived at the door. Just have to get it all rigged out after the season is over and get to shooting.

You are correct....the 788 was a cheap TG&Y, KMart, market gun....sold for like $139.....I believe it is a Mauser type bolt assembly....mine drives tacks at 200yds! and I shoot the 180 grain bullet.
