I have a Springer EMP3 but saw an all black one on GB last week. Put in a low bid of $440 and won the damn thing. $546 total to my FFL. Already changed out the sear, disconnect and sear spring. Added the Stan Chen Magwell. Thought I ordered blue but stainless showed up.

Going to send it to Nighthawk and have them stipple the front strap, trigger guard cut, cut and reverse crown and finish everything in black nitrate.

Damn I want one! I’m a fan of the 1911 also but never carry them.

I really want a 2011 but I struggle spending more than $1500 to $2000 for a pistol.

Look at Bul Armory. They make really good 2011’s. No mim parts and you can get into one for $1850.

I have a nighthawk talon 4 that looks very similar to that emp

Officer slide on a full-size frame. It’s .45 thought. Left it at nighthawk on my son’s college visit for them to rework it and replace springs and bushing.

Their custom shop does amazing work. They brought this 1948 Colt back from the dead for me. They used to have a ColtHawk package. Don’t know if they still do it. Their smoke black nitrate finish is perfect on this one.

I was on the hunt for a colt delta elite 10mm several years ago but ended up with the STI. I still want a Colt 1911 for my collection because I don’t have one but not sure which one I should get eventually.

I go through phases with my gun purchases and I was on a rifle/AR kick for years and now that’s out of my system I’m back to my pistol phase

Yeah that would scratch my itch. I know someone who has worked for them for like 20 years so I need to hit him up to see if he has any he’s willing to part with.

He helped us do a group build for a couple of STI’s before they got bought out. Basically we all voted on the forum and the majority won. Got to pick all the stuff. Man I wish they would do that with Staccato

Did 3 custom rifles through Alamo Precision that way also.

Oh yeah, that's a score! Great looking 1911s for sure.

Any experience w/Rock Island Armory 1911s... particularly in 9mm?

I had the tac Ultra 9mm 17 rd. I wanted to love the gun but never could get it reliable enough. The extractors are POS. I replaced with a Wilson but it still would FTE. I couldn’t run a full mag through it. This is a common issue with the tac ultra.

I have the same affinity for 1911s. I have two Dan Wessons, a Colt and a Kimber.

Have a few myself. Wilson Combat, Ed Brown and Les Baer. This is my favorite. Colt manufactured in 1918 and rebuilt by Nighthawk. Also have an original Colt built in 1917
