GM had a 1500HD for a couple of years. Didn't sell well at all. The people who wanted 1500s, didn't want to pay for the HD stuff, suffer HD ride, and have HD fuel mileage. They also had a non-HD 2500 around that time. No idea why, because those didn't sell well either

I mean, how much bigger can they keep making trucks?

I think we've reached (or exceeded) the ideal balance between interior and cargo space and functionality. I certainly don't think I would ever need more room inside than my f150 has.

I change what I said from the side view, full on from the front, that is an ugly front end.

Beautiful truck, but I can only imagine that beast is going to cost a pretty penny!

6.6 liter would be a 400 ci. ?
That was a small block engine.
Maybe they will offer a big block later though.

Displacement doesn't determine big block vs. small block.

Boxy doesn’t bother me. My favorite trucks of all time are the 70’s and 80’s chevys. Those trucks were also the squarest ever made.

But still, these new trucks are ugly.

If I recall correctly, they had a 366ci Big Block for medium duty trucks 20 years ago. That’s around a 6.0L V8 in displacement.

The Vortec 6.0L V8 in the current HD trucks is an entirely different engine with a small block.

The new 6.6L gas engine is primarily for their medium duty trucks. It’s alreafy being tested by GM and Navistar in class 4, 5, and 6 trucks.

It’s likely a big block with iron construction, high capacity cooling, and direct injection.

If they dropped the silver Chevrolet bar down to the center of the grill and moved the middle headlight above that bar I feel like it would look much better. here's my quick and dirtyphotoshop job, although not sure if I like it now that I have seen it. maybe stick with body color on the vertical chrome piece?

I don’t know how many posts I’ve read on this board praised the F150 because it’s back seat had more room than chevys did. Now that Chevy has more it’s a negative thing?

the 150 figs are figs. They can see no wrong in 150s no matter what. Same with Tundra figs. I have always been partial to Sierra's and have had 3 ('95, '03', '07). I now Drive a raptor('14), while i do love it i do miss how the GM's drive. And when my rapter kicks the bucket, I want to see what the new raptors would be like then and if i dont like them, i will go back to GM.

I also have always had the idea to buy a old 90's GM and get a crate diesel installed and a new interior. I wonder how much you could save, if any, doing that, basically putting new everything on there.
