Guy shoots a 30-06 with a fusion or a Barnes and it runs 80yd spraying blood and he says good job. Same guy shoots the same shot with a 6.5eldx or m and the deer runs 60yd without a drop of blood into a briar thicket and he can’t even tell where it was standing and finds it with a dog or buzzards

I get what you are saying but if people aren't finding deer then it's more of a bug, not a feature.

Savage 111 in 25-06 is my rifle of choice for deer. Very little kick and all of the kids in the family have taken their first deer with that rifle

I would be happy to take those rounds off your hands if you are in baton rouge. Leaving for the yearly hunt on Friday

I’d definitely hook you up but I’ll be out of state until thanksgiving.

I think it’s a lil bit of both. Sometimes either young or inexperienced shooters get excited and don’t even know where the deer was standing. If it’s on a small lane 100-120yds away the deer most likely completely disappears from the scope and with one jump he’s out of sight. The shooter only knows the deer was 75-150yds away and then disappeared.
A heavy bonded or solid possibly lets you just walk that lane and see blood.

Hey when you're an AP Bio teacher you have to be. I also like to diagnose shots, how it reacted, how far it ran and how it bled. Gives me a better idea for future deer.

Small caliber, high shot with few great vessels. Gravity pooling blood in chest cavity below wound.
